Step 1: Go to the 'Drilldown' in the menu bar. You will notice in the Filter box that you can select Fees, Expenses, or Both. Click on the option that you want to use:

Stept 2:  In the Partition box above the Filter box search for "Cost type", and click on it to partition the data set by cost types (Expenses or Fees):

Step 3: Navigate to the bottom section of the Drilldown page and select a visualization you'd like to use. Disbursements are currently available in the following visualizations:

  • Lists
  • Expanded List
  • Comparison
  • Expenses (Note that the Expenses visualization is available when either Expenses or Both filter is applied.)

Step 4: Cost type is available in the Compare drop down list in the Expanded List and Comparsion visualizations:

Below are a few practical examples of how to use the disbursements in these visualizations:

List Visualization

  • Partition by "Cost type"
  • Select "Both" in the filter box to include Fees and Expenses
  • Add a filter to filter by a client, matter, or a type of matter
  • In the "Display" button select items to include to the report

Comparison Visualization

  • Partition by "Cost type"
  • Compare by Matter type, Client, or any other item
  • You can also try using "Cost type" in the Compare button. In that case, partition by Matter, for example, or a type of Matter
  • Select "Both" in the filter box to include Fees and Expenses
  • If you want to focus on just Fees or Expenses, remember to change the selection in the Filter box.
  • In the visualization edit section, select a value type that is not Hours, since disbursements cards do not have Hours

Expanded List Visualization

  • Partition or Compare by "Cost type"
  • In the Filter box select the type of data required for the report: Fees, Expenses, or Both
  • Add selection filters

Don't forget to save the reports created, set up recurring reports and you can also place the reports on the dashboard.
