In cases where we have updated your import specifications, in order to make sure that excluded data is no longer visible, it can be necessary to start with an empty database. This article will guide you through that process (no worries, it is quite easy...).

Step 1:

Inform your users that you will be performing this process, so that they know that the application may be less responsive than normal.

Step 2:

Go to 'Admin' in the left menu and scroll down to the section 'Actions' on the admin main page.

If you receive a confirmation message, confirm that you would like to go ahead. Wait until the action is completed.

Step 3:

Go to 'Database Extract' on the admin main page. You can find it here:

Step 4:

Decide whether you want to kick off a full import immediately or whether you want to schedule the full import at a later time. You can follow the progress of the full import in the log section accessible from your admin main page.

Step 4a: Immediate full import

On the Database Extract page, scroll down to the 'Extract' section at the bottom of the page and click the 'Run now' button in the 'Force full database import' row as depicted below:

Step 4b: Scheduled full import

On the Database Extract page find the 'Import Schedule' section. You should see the time (local server time) at which the next daily import is scheduled to run. To enable the next import as a full import, check the Schedule next nightly import as a full import'-box and click 'Submit'.

NOTE: The full import can take quite a while to complete. It is often best to do other things and check back in an hour or two.

Step 5:

Check if the import is completed and if so, you can inform your users that the application is up and running again!
