Sometimes you need to update the endpoint to which the hybrid connection is connecting. If this is not done, the hybrid connection will still point to the wrong endpoint and the database-connection-string that you have entered in the Azure KeyVault will very likely not be valid. This is done in two steps:

  1. the endpoint needs to be updated in the Azure App Registration under Networking and then under Hybrid Connection
  2. on the host of the Hybrid Connection Manager (the HCM) you need to update the hybrid connection string.

What do you need to do?

Step 1 is normally taken care of by Clocktimizer. Step 2 is something that you need to do. You need to perform these steps on the system on which the hybrid connection manager has been installed, here is how:

  1. Make sure you have received the updated hybrid connection string from Clocktimizer.
  2. Fire up a Powershell prompt with Administrator privileges.
  3. Run the following command to update the hybrid connection string:
    Update-HybridConnection -ConnectionString "{hybrid-connection-string}"

  4. Run the following command to verify the hybrid connection was added:

  5. Now go into the Clocktimizer application to Admin > Data > Database Extract and at the bottom of the page click 'Test Database Import Connection'. This should now point to the correct database.
